1. Accountability and Timeliness - Community Service Provider (CSP) is accountable for following through with commitments made when planning for each individual.
2. Diversity - To have a well-rounded life, family members and/or community members are involved in planning and enriching the individual's life.
3. Use of Natural Supports - Community based services require the use of community facilities, access to all the services available to others in the community.
4. Community Inclusion - Involvement in the community's business, spiritual, and social aspects, both private and public.
5. Respect/Rights - Human Sexuality Training - Abuse Prevention. Provides protection for vulnerable population.
6. Rights Restriction Process - Freedom from restrictive procedures can be overruled only when necessary for protection from harm and with the knowledge and concurrence of others who know and care about the situation.
7. Desired Lifestyle - Each person has the right to make decisions about where to live, with whom, and what daily activities to do.
8. Health/Safety - Risk Assessment for each person served. When protection from harm issues conflict with the person's desired lifestyle, the degree of risk is considered and as much freedom as is reasonable is provided.
9. Safety at Home and in the Neighborhood - Adequate community service requires a feeling of safety.
10. Background Checks for Employees - No CSP would knowingly endanger those they serve by hiring a person known to have caused abuse, neglect, or exploitation (ANE).
11. Site Checks for Health/Safety - CSPs follow licensing standards and maintain service settings which promote health and safety.
12. Service Provider Accountability - An independent audit/agreed upon procedures demonstrates that CSP has provided all the services that were purchased.
13. ANE is responded to by the CSP - An allegation is investigated promptly and corrective action taken as needed.
14. Fiscal Responsiveness - The CSP has the right to prompt an accurate payment for the services provided.
15. Fairness - Compensation for work done. Each person who works shall be paid the minimum wage or a commensurate wage under a current federal wage and hour certificate.
