Limited License, Personal Assistant Services & Self Directed Care - Limited licensed providers for Day and/or Residential Services are limited in the number of individuals they are able to support. Personal Assistant Services are available to adults who choose to self-direct their day and/or residential supports. A self-direct option may be chosen by the individual or, if the person is incapable of providing self direction, by the individuals guardian or parent acting on their behalf.

Personal Assistant Services are available to individuals who choose to receive services in a setting that would otherwise be considered a setting requiring service to be provided by an entity licensed by Health Care Policy/Community Supports and Services (HCP/CSS).

A self direct option may also be chosen for Supported Home Care or Respite Services. If a provider is hired and the work is being directed by a beneficiary him/herself, then billings should be made through the CDDO or a Payroll/Billing Agent that will account for all necessary deductions including taxes, unemployment, and worker's compensation, as applicable.
